The General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Residence has said that those wishing to enter the Kingdom of Bahrain should apply for the e- visas via the new site.

Foreigners make up more than half of Bahrain’s 1.7 million population.

Last month, Bahrain said that holders of valid visas are no longer required to get prior permission to enter the country.

Scrapping the prior permission granted letter applies to foreign residents and visitors of Bahrain.

Excluded from the decision are the instant visas issued upon arrival at the country's travel outlets and which are still suspended as part of restrictions against COVID-19.
