UAE: Public holiday announced for private sector

The birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is to be observed on October 29

Dubai: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced a public holiday for all private sector employees in the country on October 29, Thursday, in line with observing Prophet Mohammed's birthday.

On October 21, a holiday had been announced for federal employees. Work is set to resume on Sunday for the public sector.

For those private sector employees who have Saturday off, this would mean a three-day weekend.
