Sharjah: A 12-year-old Emirati girl died today after suffering serious burns in a fire that broke out in a villa in Sharjah yesterday.
She succumbed to her injuries around 2am on Wednesday at Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah.
Her 63-year-old father had died on Tuesday after the blaze in Al Suyoh area.
In the incident, nine people, including family members and housemaids, were safely rescued.
The girl was treated by the National Ambulance and taken to Al Qassimi hospital. The father was taken out of one of the rooms of the villa and was suffering from suffocation as a result of inhaling smoke. He was declared dead at Kuwaiti Hospital.
The fire resulted in the burning of four rooms and the hall.
Investigations are ongoing to find the cause of the fire.
