Dubai: Three young Saudi men from the Ash Shamli area, west of Hail, have been widely praised after rescuing two Chinese expats from drowning when flash floods swept their vehicle into a valley south of the governorate.

According to local reports, the incident occurred in Shuaib Bushra following recent heavy rainfall. The rescuers: Ahmed Nasser Al Anzi, Hamoud Masamah Al Anzi and Mubarak Farih Al Anzi, acted immediately after seeing the victims’ vehicle drift and become stranded in strong currents, with two men trapped inside calling for help.

Ahmed climbed out of their vehicle, leapt onto the partially submerged car and reassured the stranded passengers that they would be saved. He managed to force the door open and pull out the first man, then the second, before he and his companions moved them to safety.

A widely shared video shows Ahmed comforting the shaken expats moments after their rescue, a scene that has sparked widespread admiration across social media.

Commentators praised the courage and humanity of the three young men, highlighting their actions as a powerful example of the bravery, generosity and sense of honour long associated with the Saudi people, particularly in moments requiring rescue and aid.
