Dubai: Another 3,927 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Saudi Arabia, taking the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom to 178,504,the Ministry of Health announced on Saturday.

The ministry also announced 37 more virus-related deaths, pushing the total number of fatalities in the Kingdom to 1,511.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,657 more patients have completely recovered from the deadly disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 122,128, leaving 54,865 active cases under treatment across the Kingdom’s hospitals.

Riyadh continues to see a significant drop in the number of new cases with 181 being reported on Saturday while Hofuf reported the highest daily number of infections with 535 new cases.

Mecca was second, recording 408 cases followed by Dammam with 399 and Abha with 234 cases while Khamis Mushait reported 209 new cases.

During today’s media briefing, the ministry of health revealed that a COVID-19 patient transmitted the disease to 21 members of her family, including aged relatives, by failing to adhere to precautionary measures.
