Cairo: Oman said Tuesday that its total infections of the novel coronavirus have reached 84,652, an increase of 143 new cases against the tally reported the day before.

The Omani Health Ministry put the sultanate’s total deaths from COVID-19 at 642 with five new fatalities.

The overall number of recovered patients in the sultanate has climbed to 79,147, or 93.4 per cent, the ministry said, according to the Omani news agency ONA.

The ministry added that the number of patients receiving intensive care treatment are 151.

Oman last week lifted a ban on nighttime movement that was imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19.
