Cairo: With 163 new cases reported today, Oman has said that the total number of infections of the coronavirus now stand at 83,769.

The Omani Health Ministry put the sultanate’s total deaths from COVID-19 at 609 with six new fatalities reported.

The overall number of recovered patients in the sultanate has reached 78,386, or 93.6 per cent, the ministry said, according to the Omani news agency ONA.

The ministry added that the number of patients receiving intensive care treatment are 151.

Omani authorities this week lifted a ban on night-time movement that was imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19.
