Dubai: A senior officer working at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Education has been accused of harassing a colleague at work, local media reported.

Refusing to surrender to the officer’s wishes, the female employee has escalated the case directly to the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Saud Al Harbi.

The officer denied the charges and told the minister that the charge slapped against him were allegedly because he used his position to transfer the employee to another department.

Informed educational sources told Al Seyassah daily the Minister Al Harbi has referred the senior officer to the Civil Service Commission for investigation

The sources stated the minister has initiated a request for statements and fact-finding from various parties concerning the complaint.

Meanwhile, the female employee is said to have disclosed everything in front of some officials in the minister’s office and revealed all the harassment she was subjected to.

The sources indicated some officials asked the employee to remain calm and not to provide any information about the harassment she was exposed to publicly, especially since there is an investigation going on into the incident or go to the ‘police station’ which was another option in front of the complainant.
