Dubai: Kuwait’s Ministry of Health has referred a doctor for investigation after he took a video of his colleagues while resting in the doctors’ room, showing dilapidated beds, open drawers and insects scattered everywhere, local media reported.

The doctor took the video while his colleagues were resting and sent it to officials in the ministry. This angered his colleagues who complained about the 'unfair measure'.

This has prompted interim Minister of Health Sheikh Dr Basel Al Sabah to issue instructions to the directors of public hospitals and specialised health centres to do an inventory of the rooms allotted for health and administrative personnel to determine what needs to be done in terms of maintenance and furnishing, as most of the rooms have not been renovated for more than 25 years.

The ministry announced later that the inventory will cover the rooms of doctors, nurses, technicians and administrators; while the Kuwaiti Medical Association said it had contacted the doctor who was referred for investigation and confirmed support for his move to seek for improvement of personnel facilities.
