Cairo: Kuwaiti trade authorities have seized 2,000 bottles of perfume copycats in a crackdown on fake goods south of the capital, Al Anba newspaper reported Sunday.

The haul was seized inside a warehouse in the area of Al Farwaniyah, linked to a manufacturer of perfumes, it added, citing an official statement.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry said that its inspectors had seized the perfumes marketed as original labels. The fake perfumes included copycats of local, regional and international labels, according to the ministry.

The haul has been handed over to the agencies concerned to complete legal procedures against the suspects.
