He issued certificates stating COVID-19 test was negative, without even conducting a test

Kuwait City: An Indian laboratory technician was arrested for forging fake PCR tests in return for 30 Kuwaiti dinars (Dh365) each, local media reported.
The 51-year-old technician issued PCR certificates that stated that the COVID-19 test was negative, without even conducting a test.
He pocketed 6 Kuwaiti dinars in commission for every test, while 24 Kuwaiti dinars went to the private clinic he worked at.
During his interrogation, he confessed that he forged around 60 PCR tests but did not reveal who the tests were bought by. According to a security source who spoke to Al Qabas, all of those who obtained a fake PCR test were located, with the majority being outside the country. The source added that they will be arrested upon their return to the country.
The accused has been referred to Public Prosecution and the private clinic has been shut.
Although the accused was arrested on Friday, the authorities had been monitoring him for five days to gather enough evidence and catch him in the act of selling a forged PCR test.
