Dubai: Bahrain’s Ministry of Health has announced the detection of 462 new cases of the COVID-19 in foreign workers, contacts and some from recent arrivals to the island kingdom.

The latest cases were identified after health authorities conducted over 10,767 tests yesterday.

Health officials said that 226 expatriate workers were detected with the virus in the past 24 hours, 225 others were infected from local contacts and 11 are travel-related.

The Ministry of Health also confirmed that 414 patients recovered from coronavirus bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 34,826 so far.

The latest update reveals that there are currently 80 COVID-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 48 are in a critical condition. Over 3,448 cases are stable out of a total of 3,496 active cases. The total number of discharged recovered cases totals to 34,826.

Bahrain has conducted over 771,500 tests. Two men, a Bahraini, 66 and an expat, 61, died, taking the total number of deaths due to the coronavirus to 136.
