A deadly shooting in Renton, Washington, claimed the lives of three people on Saturday evening, according to local reports.

The incident occurred around 7:30pm near Meadow Crest Playground, close to the Meadow Crest Pickleball and Tennis Court, and the Meadow Crest Early Learning Centre.

Renton Police responded swiftly, confirming a shooting with multiple victims near Kirkland Avenue NE and NE 18th Street. While early reports indicated three fatalities, officials have not yet verified the number of fatalities at this time.

Ongoing investigation

Police have cordoned off the area and launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large. The scene remains active with a heavy police presence as investigators gather evidence and interview witnesses.

“This is an active scene. Please avoid the area,” Renton Police stated on social media, adding that a public information officer was en route to provide updates.

Community urged to stay alert

Authorities are urging residents in the area to stay vigilant and steer clear of the vicinity while the investigation continues. No motive has been released, and the suspect’s description has not yet been made public.
