Dubai: The UAE’s Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has banned the import of birds and eggs from two countries. The newly-announced ban is applicable to avian imports from Estonia and Romania.

The ban covers imports of all kinds of live domestic and wild birds, ornamental birds, chicks and hatching eggs and their products that are not treated thermally, according to a tweet posted by the ministry on Monday.

The reason for the ban was not cited.
