Parents were urged to prevent children from riding bikes in undesignated areas
Ras Al Khaimah: A widespread campaign in Ras Al Khaimah, aimed at promoting safe mobility and reducing traffic accidents and fatalities, has led to the seizure of numerous unauthorized bikes.
The campaign was conducted by the Traffic Investigations and Control Section of the Traffic and Patrols Department in Ras Al Khaimah between April 22 and May 1. As a result, 491 unlicensed bikes were confiscated, including motorcycles, bicycles, and electric scooters.
The Traffic and Patrols Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police stated that the campaign is part of the broader efforts of the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command—under the directives of Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the Police—to enhance road safety by cracking down on bikes that pose a real threat to the lives and safety of their riders and other road users. The department also emphasized the importance of complying with traffic laws and regulations.
Parents were urged to support police efforts by not allowing their children to ride any type of bike in undesignated areas, highlighting the serious risk this behavior poses to their safety and lives. The department also pointed out that such activity causes disturbance to others and may distract drivers, potentially resulting in serious traffic accidents.
