Dubai: A distracted motorist caused panic on Al Wasl Road in Dubai on Friday afternoon when he accidentally drove through a shop window.
The driver, who miraculously escaped unhurt, sent his car careening into the storefront, shattering the glass and leaving the vehicle lodged inside.
Dubai Police, in a statement on their social media platform, confirmed the incident was caused by the motorist accidentally pressing the accelerator instead of the brakes. The vehicle crashed into the shop, striking the entrance before coming to a halt, the authority said.
The incident was promptly reported to the police operation room. Police arrived at the scene and removed the vehicle from the shop. They confirmed that no injuries were sustained as a result of the accident.
