Sharjah: A 2.4 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale was recorded in Al Bataeh region of Sharjah emirate in northern UAE at 3:27pm on Saturday, tweeted the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The intensity was not felt by residents and the earthquake passed without any effect in the UAE, NCM said.
