Dubai’s skyline is set to shine with patriotic pride as the Burj Khalifa will display the Pakistani flag today, August 14 at 7:50 pm, marking Pakistan’s Independence Day.

According to the Pakistan mission’s spokesperson, the world’s tallest building will join the expat community in celebrating the 78th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Day, creating a stunning visual tribute visible across the city.

The display comes as a symbol of the strong ties between the UAE and Pakistan, and as a gesture of solidarity with the thriving Pakistani community in the country.

The Pakistani missions are inviting residents and visitors to witness the spectacular flag-lighting ceremony and join the celebrations of freedom, unity, and national pride.

The day’s Independence Day celebrations began with flag-hoisting ceremonies at the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate in Dubai, where hundreds of community members participated with enthusiastic patriotic fervour.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, noted that today’s festivities build on the massive August 10 event held at Dubai Expo City, attended by an estimated 60,000 community members – the largest Pakistan Independence Day celebration anywhere in the world.
