Dubai: The gates opened early today but the excitement started even earlier.

As the clock struck 11am, a wave of green and white swept through Expo City Dubai, marking the beginning of a 12-hour celebration like no other Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, hosted with grandeur, pride, and pure joy.

With crowds arriving well before the official start, the anticipation was palpable. And then the show began.

The Parade of Unity

Kicking off the festivities, a dazzling community parade brought the spirit of Pakistan to life. Over 15 cultural and community groups, proudly representing the provinces, professions, and traditions of Pakistan, marched in vibrant attire, waving flags, and dancing to the rhythms of their heritage. It was a living, moving celebration of unity in diversity.

The energy was unstoppable and this was just the beginning.

All day long – culture, cuisine & celebration

Inside the massive halls of Expo City, the air buzzed with excitement as families, youth, and elders explored food stalls offering authentic Pakistani delicacies, browsed through craft exhibitions, and enjoyed non-stop cultural performances. From traditional dances to musical mashups, Sufi melodies to regional folk, the stage became a rotating showcase of Pakistan’s rich cultural tapestry.

The Dubai summer heat was no match for the cool vibes inside – where the spirit of celebration never took a break.

A celebration of friendship

This year’s event is more than a party, it is a tribute to the deep-rooted ties between the UAE and Pakistan. Hosted by Emirates Loves Pakistan in partnership with the Pakistan Association in Dubai, and supported by Dubai Police, the event brings together communities, cultures, and countries in shared celebration.

Prominent dignitaries including Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE, are the main guests of honour, along with diplomats and notable figures from both nations.

6pm onward

As evening sets in, the spotlight turns to the main stage, where the entertainment reaches a whole new level.

Sahir Ali Bagga, Pakistan’s popular music producer and singer, will set the night on fire with his powerful vocals.

Natasha Baig, the Sufi rock star, brings her magnetic energy and soulful sound to the crowd.

Yousuf Bashir Qureshi, storyteller and cultural icon, will mesmerize audiences with tales that capture the soul of Pakistan.

The performances will continue into the night, promising an unforgettable experience of rhythm, meaning, and magic.

Don’t miss out

If you are in the UAE, there are still time to be part of this once-a-year spectacle. Whether you are Pakistani or just a fan of great culture and community spirit, head over to Expo City Dubai before it wraps at 11pm.

Do not wait for the evening to join the celebrations as gates will be closed at 6pm. Also, come as early as possible to enjoy a huge line up of performances by singer and artists from different parts of Pakistan.
