Dubai: Blaze at Jebel Ali waste oil dump put out

Dubai: A fire in a dump of oil waste in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Industrial Area has been brought under control.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, which had erupted shortly before noon on Monday.

Dubai Media Office tweeted photos of Dubai Civil Defence teams battling the fire, adding that the situation was under control.

The location of the fire was far from factories in the area. The thick black smoke seen in the area was caused by the burning of oily substances, it added.
