Police urged motorists to comply with traffic regulations, avoid dangerous practices

Sharjah Police have intensified road safety operations across the emirate, seizing 73 vehicles and 25 motorbikes for a range of serious violations, including reckless driving, creating excessive noise, and driving without a licence.
The large-scale campaign, carried out by the Traffic and Patrols Department, aims to curb disruptive behaviour on the roads and protect public safety, authorities said.
Brigadier Khalid Al Kay, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Sharjah Police, said the campaign is part of an ongoing strategy to improve road safety and promote responsible driving among motorists. Regular campaigns, he noted, are designed to raise awareness and encourage safer driving habits, ensuring a positive impact on community security and wellbeing.
Sharjah Police urged motorists to comply with traffic regulations and avoid practices that endanger others or cause disturbance. Officers stressed that responsible behaviour behind the wheel contributes to a safer and more comfortable environment for all road users.
The public was also encouraged to report dangerous road behaviour. Emergencies and critical incidents should be reported via 999, while non-emergency enquiries and concerns can be directed to 901, officials said. The force highlighted that community cooperation remains crucial to achieving safer roads for everyone.
