Dubai: A Lebanese man died Thursday morning at the Islamic Hospital in Tripoli, days after being stabbed multiple times by his wife during a domestic dispute at their home in Majdlaya, Zgharta District, security officials said.

The victim, identified as Saeed Sankari, was admitted to the hospital last week in critical condition and placed under intensive care. Despite medical efforts, doctors confirmed he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.

Preliminary reports suggest the altercation began as a family argument but escalated into violence. His wife, identified by her initials D.A., allegedly stabbed him several times before fleeing the scene.

The Internal Security Forces said a patrol from the Information Branch arrested her on Thursday afternoon in the Tal neighbourhood of Tripoli.

Authorities confirmed that a criminal investigation is underway and legal proceedings against the wife have begun.
