Dubai: Nujood Khalil Al Khybari, who was working at Ohud Hospital in Medina, died of coronavirus on Tuesday evening and tributes have been pouring in for the Saudi nurse.

Al Khybari, who was at the frontline in serving COVID-19 patients at the hospital, had tested positive for coronavirus.

Tributes have been paid to the nurse who died after being infected with coronavirus while she was working on the frontlines of a battle against the deadly virus.

The Saudi Nursing Society and its affiliates offered condolences to the nurse’s family, praying to Allah the Almighty to bless her soul with his mercy and forgiveness and grant her family patience and solace.

“It is with great pain and grief that the society mourns the shocking demise of nurse Nujood Al Khaybari. We offer our heartfelt condolences to her family and place her in Paradise,” the society said.

Tributes and condolences poured in across social media platforms with a special hashtag, #the nurse_Nujood_ Al Khaybari, launched to express their deepest condolences over her passing.

One Twitter user said: “Health heroes who died because of the coronavirus ... God’s mercy on your pure souls, do not forget them from your prayers.”

Another wrote: “Thanks, health heroes … you are doing your most valuable asset to protect our most valuable asset.”
