Dubai: Another 1,686 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Saudi Arabia, pushing the total number of COVID-19 infections to 275,905, the Ministry of Health announced on Friday.

Twenty-four more deaths from the novel virus have also been confirmed, taking the country’s death toll to 2,866.

The ministry also announced the full recovery of 4,460 new cases after receiving the necessary treatment, taking that number up to 235,658 of total recovered patients.

Mecca saw the highest number of new cases with 178 new infections. Khamis Muushait had the second highest with 106 followed by Riyadh Al with 99 new cases over the past 24 hours.

According to the ministry, there are 37,381 active cases out of which 2,033 are in a critical condition.

There were no cases reported in the holy sites, the ministry added.
