Free data-free services include permits, train bookings, Nusuk maps, and inquiries
Dubai: In a move aimed at easing the pilgrimage experience and advancing digital access, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has launched a new feature enabling full access to the Nusuk app without consuming internet data, in cooperation with Saudi telecom providers stc, Mobily and Zain, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said on Thursday.
The initiative offers citizens, residents and visitors full use of the app’s services without requiring an active internet connection or data plan.
“This initiative allows seamless access to all services offered through the Nusuk app, including issuing permits and making reservations,” said Dr. Ghassan Al Nuwaimi, the ministry’s spokesperson.
“The initiative is part of our wider strategy to enhance ease the journey and digital experience for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.”
Among the services now available free of data charges are the issuance of permits to visit Al Rawdah Al Sharifah, booking tickets on the Haramain High-Speed Railway, navigating via Nusuk maps, submitting inquiries or reports, and using the AI-powered “Nusuk AI” assistant.
Ahmed Al Maiman, CEO of Nusuk, said the collaboration marks a significant advancement in digital transformation, helping to streamline the pilgrimage journey.
“This will improve crowd management, reduce the number of lost visitors, and expedite permit verification,” he said.
The ministry underscored that the initiative is part of a broader commitment to building a comprehensive technical infrastructure for Hajj and Umrah services — one that ensures universal, barrier-free access to all pilgrims and visitors.
