Dubai: Saudi police have arrested two men for stealing money from taxi drivers using weapons in Riyadh, local media has reported.
The suspects, one Saudi and the other Yemeni, were involved in a series of thefts targeting cab drivers.
The suspects first lured their victims into remote and isolated areas before using a sharp-edged weapon to force them to give away any money or valuables in their possession.
Major Khalid Al Kreidis, Riyadh Police assistance spokesperson, said they stole money and items worth 20,000 Saudi riyals. They have been referred to Public Prosecution and detained pending investigation and trial.
