Cairo: Saudi police said they have arrested five illegal expatriates for dealing in bogus sterilisers and detergents.

The five, found to be violators of the kingdom’s labour and residency regulations, are Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals, spokesman for the Mecca region police Major Mohammed Al Ghamdi said.

They were involved in bottling chemical substances of unknown origin using fake trademarks, he added.

2,256 packets were found in the suspects ‘possession before distribution inside a warehouse they ran in Jeddah, the official said.

They are being kept in custody pending the completion of legal procedures to refer them to public prosecution.
