Saudi Arabia: 2 arrested for using fake guns to rob expats

Pair carried out 63 thefts by posing as security guards and threatening expats

Dubai: Saudi security authorities have arrested two citizens for impersonating security officers and committing robberies against expatriate workers, local media said on Sunday.

The suspects, in their 20s and 30s, carried out 63 robberies in Dammam, Dhahran and Al Qatif in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia. They used plastic guns to threaten expatriates and take their money.

Police found in their possession 60,000 riyals. They have been referred to public prosecution for legal action.
