Cairo: Government employees Sunday returned to their workplaces in Saudi Arabia after the end of a 16-day holiday marking Eid Al Adha.
The return to work coincides with strict precautions Saudi authorities have in place to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Saudi Health Minister Tawfiq Al Rabiah has reminded employees of the importance of observing anti-virus precautions.
“We return to our work and serving our nation upholding the motto ‘I wear my face mask, I won’t shake hands; and I keep enough distancing,” the minister tweeted early Sunday. “My safety and that of those around me is my responsibility,” he added.
While relaxing several virus-induced restrictions in recent weeks, Saudi Arabia has repeatedly warned against violating measures adopted to curb the highly contagious disease including a ban on large gatherings and the wearing of protective face masks in public.
The kingdom so far has reported 250,440 virus cases and 3,130 related deaths.
