COVID-19 in GCC: 17 die in Saudi Arabia, 10 in Oman

Kuwait’s total recoveries rise to 118,386, Bahrain’s to 78,997

Dubai: Kuwait’s Ministry of Health revealed that 759 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Kuwait today, taking its tally of infections to 127,239. The new coronavirus cases were detected from among 5,611 people who underwent PCR tests over the past 24 hours.

The virus claimed four more lives, bringing total fatalities to 786. The ministry also announced that 828 patients have made full recovery, pushing total recovered people to 118,386. The active cases have now hit 8,121, including 114 serious cases receiving treatment at ICUs.

Oman

The Ministry of Health today registered 418 new coronavirus cases, taking the Sultanate’s total confirmed infections to 116,152. There were 495 fresh recoveries in the past 24 hours, pushing total recoveries to 106195.

Ten people have succumbed to the infection following complications caused by the virus, raising death toll to 2,256. Community members are being advised to continue wearing face masks and strictly follow social distancing protocols issued by the Supreme Committee and the ministry.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia reported 381 new cases of coronavirus, increasing total cases to 348,037, the Ministry of Health said in its latest update. The ministry also announced 17 more fatalities over the past 24 hours, taking its death tally to 5,437.

The Kingdom’s overall recoveries climbed to 334,672, as 438 additional patients have fully recovered. The active cases have fallen to 7,928, out of which 755 are critical.

Qatar

The Ministry of Public Health said 197 people tested positive for COVID-19 today in Qatar, pushing the country’s tally of infections to 132,917.

No new fatalities have been reported in the last 24 hours, keeping death toll as 232. The ministry also announced the recovery of 212 patients, raising total recovered people in the country to 129,996.

Active cases have fallen to 2,689, out of which 338 are critical and 40 serious cases under intensive care.

Bahrain

Bahrain’s Ministry of Health reported 185 cases of COVID-19 after conducting 9,444 PCR tests, pushing the total number of infections in the Kingdom to 81,839.

No new fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours, keeping death tally at 321. The ministry also announced that 278 infected patient have fully recovered in the past 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 78,997.

The active cases has now touched 2,605, out of which 2,581 are stable, while 24 are critical under intensive care.
