Dubai: The total count of COVID-19 infections in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain has climbed to 856,652 cases, while the fatality tally has risen to 8,906 on Monday.

Kuwait

An additional 230 cases of coronavirus were reported in Kuwait today, taking the total number of confirmed infections to 144,599.

According to the latest update by the Ministry of Health, six people have succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing fatality tally to 897.

There were 306 fresh recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the overall tally of recoveries to 140,341. Active cases have fallen to 3,361, out of which 84 are critical under intensive care.

Oman

The Sultanate today reported 229 new cases of COVID-19, raising the total number of infections to 125,115. According to the latest update by the Ministry of Health, eight new fatalities were reported over the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 1,452.

A further 152 patients have fully recovered, pushing total recoveries to 116,506. The ministry urged community members to strictly adhere to social distancing protocols and precautionary measures issued by the Supreme Committee tasked with tackling the COVID-19 pandemic and the ministry.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health today confirmed the detection of 209 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, maintaining a steady decline in the single-day infections in the Kingdom.

The ministry also reported 12 more deaths from complications caused by the virus over the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 358,922 and total fatalities to 5,977.

A further 289 people have fully recovered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people recovered from the virus to 349,168, with the recovery rate climbing to 97.28 per cent.

Of the new cases, Riyadh and Medina reported 44 cases each, followed by Mecca with 37 and the Eastern region with 26 cases.

Al Jouf region recorded the lowest single-day count with just one case. The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the drastic drop in the number of daily cases and the steady rise in recoveries, the active cases in the Kingdom also came down significantly with 3,777 reported during the last 24 hours, out of which 577 that are critical cases.

Bahrain

The Ministry of Health announced 198 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total cases in the Kingdom to 87,930.

No deaths were reported over the last 24 hours, keeping the Kingdom’s fatality tally at 341. The newly detected cases include 106 expatriate workers, 76 people who contracted the virus after contacting active cases and 16 are travel related.

The new cases were detected as 11,054 PCR tests were conducted across the Kingdom over the last 24 hours. There were 145 fresh recoveries, increasing total recoveries to 86,030. The active cases have now touched 1,559; of these 1,549 are stable, 27 are still receiving treatment and 10 are critically ill patients under intensive care.

Qatar

The Ministry of Public Health has confirmed 178 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total cases in Qatar to 140,086. No new deaths were reported over the past 24 hours, keeping fatality tally at 239.

According to the ministry’s latest figures, 218 patients have fully recovered, pushing the total number of people recovered from COVID-19 across the country to 137,494. Active cases have now reached 2,353, including 262 that are still receiving treatment, while 30 are critical under intensive care.
