Abu Dhabi: Saudi authorities have shut down 28 barber shops in Jeddah for breaking COVID-19 health protocols during Eid Al Adha holidays, Saudi media reported.
Engineer Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al Zahrani, Undersecretary for Sub-Municipalities, said inspectors found that these shops failed to abide by health protocols during Eid Al Adha holidays.
Al Zahrani added that inspections were intensified by the sub-municipalities round the clock to ensure that barber salons comply with municipal requirements and precautionary measures.
Al Zahrani called on citizens and residents to report any violations via the 940 call centr.
Barber shops and beauty salons are required as per the reoperation measures to abide by precautions including social distancing, regular disinfection and providing sterilisation for clients.
Workers on duty have also to wear protective face masks while crowding is banned inside shops.
