COVID-19: 1,704 new cases reported in Saudi Arabia

Infections continue to rise; 6 per cent of today’s cases are children

Dubai: Saudi Arabia’s total coronavirus cases continued to grow, with another 1,704 new people testing positive for the illness.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Health, this brings the total number of confirmed cases in the Kingdom to 37,136 while the country’s death toll has increased to 239 after 10 new deaths were reported today.

As many as 1,024 COVID-19 patients have made full recovery, taking the total number of patients recovered so far to 10,144.

The ministry revealed that currently there are 26,753 active cases receiving necessary treatment across the country’s hospitals, 140 of whom are in critical condition.

It stated that 6 per cent of today’s cases are children, 90 per cent are adults and 4 per cent are above 65 years. It further said that 18 per cent of the cases are female while the rest 82 per cent are male.
