Dubai: Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health has announced the detection of 520 new cases of coronavirus while 961 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered from the virus and four others have died.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Qatar to 102,630, while there have been 98,232 recoveries overall and 146 deaths so far.

The ministry revealed that it has conducted 4,101 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total done so far to 404,868 tests.

The ministry stressed that the four new deaths- people aged 30, 57, 70 and 91 - all were receiving the necessary medical care.

Additionally, seven patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 139.

The ministry urged anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 to contact the unified helpline (16000), or to go to one of the virus testing centres, since the earlier detection of the disease results in a better chance of recovery.

The main screening centres include Muaither Health Center, Rawdat Al Khail Health Center, Umm Slal Health Center, and Al Gharafa Health Centre.
