Dubai: Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 227 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), taking the total number of confirmed infections to 119,864.

Meanwhile, as many as 242 COVID-19 patients made full recovery from the virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 116,780, leaving 2,882 active cases under treatment.

The ministry also reported one death - a 71-year-old - due to the coronavirus, which pushes the country’s death toll to 202.

Out of the 227 new cases, 210 are local and 17 are travellers returning from abroad.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The latest cases were detected after conducting 4,725 tests in the last 24 hours, taking the total tests done so far to 654,973 tests. There are 37 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.

Three patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 51.
