The news on this subject is not true, it says
Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Health said that there is no truth in the news circulating on social media about an impending curfew in Oman.
“The Ministry of Health would like to clarify that the news circulating on social media on this subject is not true.”
The news was shared with many citizens and residents alike about a full closure on activities that will happen soon and that a proposal to activate such a closure will be presented to Supreme Committee on Monday.
Last week, another audio clip went viral which falsely informed people that vaccination has been opened for everyone. Many people thronged the vaccination centre of Bausher after getting the false information from the audio clip that caused mild commotion at the entry point of the venue.
A senior Omani who had gone for his second shot of vaccine at the Bowsher Sports Complex that has been set up as a vaccination centre said that some youth that came into the centre showed the audio clip to claim their right for inoculation.
However, it was explained to them that the vaccination is currently being given only to those above 60 years of age.
Subsequently Ministry of Health denied the authenticity of the mentioned audio clip and requested people not to pay heed to such news which doesn’t originate from the official handles of the Ministry of Health.
