Muscat: With Oman imposing a night curfew again from tomorrow till 24 October and banning any movement from 8pm to 5am due to an increase of COVID-19 cases, the public transport connecting cities and within the capital that was resumed recently will have a new schedule of timings conforming to the curfew hours.

Mwasalat has announced that the bus services within Muscat will operate only till 6pm from tomorrow. Intercity service timings will be rescheduled to ensure the trips reach the destination by 6pm. Even the ferry service timings have been changed to abide by the curfew timings.

This is the second time a night time curfew is imposed in Oman, after the first one that ran from 25 July till 8 August, from 7pm till 6am. The Supreme Committee for Corona in Oman has also decided to close all beaches until further notice. The ban on entry to many beaches including Shati Al Qurum, and Azaiba beaches were in place since yesterday evening, where many visitors, were turned away along with some other business activities that were allowed to be resumed earlier. The names and nature of those business which will be shut again, is expected to be announced soon.

New timings

Super-markets and hyper-markets have also circulated the new shop timings, ensuring a seamless supply-chain process by opening the outlets earlier in the morning.

Private organisations and corporate offices have already informed the staff on the new work timings as work resumes tomorrow after the weekend break.

This time around, the names of the violators will be announced in public and legal action will be taken as well it has been informed. Supreme Committee has called upon all the citizens and residents, especially youth, to abide by the rules to prevent the spread and use the collective intelligence to combat the virus.
