Cairo: Oman has recorded 712 new cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing to 18,198 the country's overall infections, the Omani news agency ONA reported Tuesday.

The newly diagnosed cases include 362 Omanis and 350 foreign residents, the Health Ministry said without giving a breakdown of foreign patients’ nationalities.

The ministry announced two more deaths from COVID-19, taking the total of such fatalities to 83.

The country's over recoveries from the disease has reached 4,152, with an increase of 359 over the previous day.

There are 85 patients receiving intensive care treatment, the ministry said.

Oman has conducted 2,688 coronavirus tests over the past 24 hours, it added.
