Dubai: What could have been a catastrophic fire at a petrol station in Kuwait was narrowly averted thanks to the quick action and composure of local station workers who managed to contain a blaze that erupted in a vehicle during refuelling.

The incident took place at a petrol station in the Qasr area of Jahra Governorate, where a car caught fire while parked at the pump.

The driver, reportedly startled and disoriented, had been holding the fuel nozzle in the tank when the fire began near the engine.

He managed to pull the hose out, but the danger escalated quickly. According to local reports, a group of station employees acted decisively to minimize the threat.

One worker immediately sprayed the vehicle with a fire extinguisher, targeting the flames erupting from the engine.

Meanwhile, another worker jumped behind the wheel and, with the help of colleagues, physically pushed the burning vehicle away from the fuel dispensers.

As the car reignited a second time, fire crews from the Kuwait Fire Force arrived within minutes to fully suppress the flames and secure the area.

No injuries were reported, and the damage was contained to the vehicle.
