Dubai: A Kuwaiti woman has been arrested on charges of practising witchcraft, sorcery, divination and fraud, in the latest move by the Criminal Security Sector to curb harmful practices and protect the public from deception, the Arabic-language daily Al Rai reported.

The Ministry of Interior said the suspect allegedly lured victims by claiming she could resolve family disputes, lift curses, bring good fortune and grant personal wishes — all in exchange for money.

Acting on confidential information, detectives verified the allegations, obtained a warrant and arrested her at her home in the Mangaf area of Al Ahmadi Governorate.

A search of the residence uncovered tools, herbs, stones and other materials believed to be used in witchcraft.

The items were seized, and the woman was referred to prosecutors for legal proceedings.

The ministry urged the public to report similar activities through official channels, warning that such practices harm society and run counter to cultural and moral values.
