Woman, identified as (E.K.), was detained after receiving credible reports
Dubai: A female Iraqi national has been arrested in Kuwait for allegedly engaging in sorcery, financial fraud, and deception, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior.
The woman, identified as (E.K.), was detained by the General Department of Criminal Investigation’s Anti-Financial Crimes Division after receiving credible reports that she had been offering fortune-telling and supernatural “solutions” to personal, family, and financial problems in exchange for large sums of money.
Authorities said she exploited the emotional vulnerability of individuals seeking help, claiming she could predict the future and perform rituals rooted in witchcraft and superstition.
After confirming the intelligence through surveillance, a legal warrant was obtained and a sting operation was carried out in the Al Adan area, where the suspect was arrested in possession of ritualistic items, including written charms, herbs, oils, amulets, and padlocks.
The suspect and the confiscated items have been referred to the appropriate legal authorities for further action.
The Ministry of Interior urged the public not to fall victim to such illicit practices and reiterated its commitment to combating fraudulent activities that threaten societal well-being.
