Dubai: Public transport companies in Kuwait announced on Monday they were putting in place the final preparations to restart the bus service tomorrow after a long pause due to the coronavirus pandemic, local media reported.

According to the government guidelines on restarting public transport, the passenger capacity in the bus should not exceed 30 per cent. The guidelines also stipulate an automatic ticket issuing facility so that the passenger can take the ticket without assistance from the driver.

Each bus should install a device to measure temperatures of passengers, in addition to the continuous sterilisation of buses even before starting every trip. There will be a barrier between the driver and passengers to avoid close contact.

The buses also must keep spacing between passengers and should give clear instructions. As per the fourth phase of return to normalcy, public buses can operate from Tuesday until 7pm.
