Kuwait City: The Ministry of Interior announced that they will begin to receive requests from public and private sector employees that qualify to work during the curfew hours, local media reported.

The requests will need to be processed by the Ministry of Interior and must be within the category of businesses that are allowed to operate during the curfew hours as dictated by the government. Those that can apply for a permit are people working in the supermarkets, pharmacies and maintenance and electric companies.

The Ministry of Interior stated that those looking to submit a request will need to fill out an application for both the employees and the transportation vehicle.

Two-hour permit

As for citizens and residents, they can apply for a two-hour permit for the following reasons: medical consultation, blood donation, COVID-19 vaccine or a PCR test. Those looking to apply for a permit can submit a request via the Public Authority for Civil Information’s (PACI) website.

The announcement comes as Kuwait prepares for a nation-wide curfew which will begin on Sunday March 7 from 5:00am to 5:00pm for a duration of a month.
