Kuwait City: The Director of the Air Transport Department at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Abdullah Al Rajhi issued a circular stating that as of March 7 the Kuwait International Airport will operate 24 hours.

According to the circular, all operating airlines were informed by the change and were informed to provide the DGCA with any changes in their flight schedule.

Airport closure

This comes after the Kuwait airport reduced its capacity back in January to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Since then the airport has been only accepting a maximum of 1,000 passengers a day.

The new decision does not affect the ban on non-Kuwaitis as they are barred from entering Kuwait until further notice.

As for those exempt from the decision, first degree relatives of Kuwaitis and domestic workers, they are to follow the health procedures put in place by the government and the DGCA upon their arrival.
