Kuwait: COVID-19 cases in January double those in December

Gulf state urges people to adhere to precautionary measures and avoid social gatherings

Dubai: Kuwait’s health authorities have revealed that the number of COIVD-19 cases registered in January were double those recorded in December, Al Qabas daily reported.

A total number of 14,388 people have been infected with the coronavirus while 23 patients succumbed to the disease in January, compared to 7,592 new infections and 53 deaths in December 2020.

The country’s Ministry of Health has urged citizens and residents to adhere to precautionary measures and to avoid social gatherings.

Kuwait has so far reported a total of 165,843 confirmed COVID-19 infections and 959 COVID-19 related deaths in addition to 158,476 recoveries overall, meaning that there are currently 6,408 active cases under treatment.
