Cairo: A state anti-graft watchdog in Kuwait is examining around 90 alerts it has received until the end of December about alleged corruption in 37 different agencies, a local newspaper has reported.
Twelve alerts are pertaining to social institutions and 11 others linked to the Health Ministry, Al Rai said, citing official figures.

Other reports being examined by the Anti-Corruption Authority, officially known as Nazaha, cover the Kuwait Oil Company, the Ministry of Awqaf, the customs directorate, the Kuwait Municipality as well as ministries of electricity, interior, public works, education, finance, justice, information and oil.
The paper did not provide details on the alleged corruption in each of the cited institutions. There was no immediate comment from Nazaha.
In recent years, Kuwait has ramped up its efforts to fight corruption. In 2019, the country’s top court sentenced a Kuwaiti ambassador to six years in prison and ordered his removal from post after convicting him in a case involving state money embezzlement.
