Abu Dhabi: Police in Kuwait registered a violation of the total curfew and exploitation of position against two officers, a first lieutenant and a sergeant in the women’s police when they crossed a security checkpoint and insulted the security personnel there, taking advantage of their uniform outside working hours, police said.

The two officers were driving a vehicle and breached a security checkpoint in the Doha area of Kuwait City, and a patrol immediately chased and stopped them.

They were found to be working with the Ministry of Interior.

When asked about the reason for passing the checkpoint, the first lieutenant entered into an argument with and insulted the security personnel and the investigation officers.

A security source said that investigation showed that the two women worked in the Special Forces, and that they were off duty, but taking advantage of their jobs. A case was filed with the Doha police station and legal measures are being taken against them, the source said.

Kuwait enacted a total curfew from May 10 until May 30 to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.
