COVID-19: No PCR test needed for children under 6 to enter Kuwait

Kuwait City: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced that passengers under the age of 6 years old are exempt from doing the PCR examination test upon arrival into Kuwait. The decision was based on the updates of the health authorities.

In an effort to ease travel restrictions, the DGCA announced that travelers are exempt from providing a PCR certificate if they were travelling for four days or less.

In addition, the DGCA also announced that those arriving in Kuwait can provide a valid PCR certificate that was conducted up to 96 hours, instead of 72 hours.

Meanwhile, all passengers arriving in the country need to quarantine for 14 days.

The August 1 travel ban imposed on 32 ‘high risk’ countries is still enforced. When the travel ban was first announced, the list comprised of 31 countries, then a few weeks ago Afghanistan was added to the list.

State media has mentioned that the banning of flights does not affect nationality, rather it is based on if a person visited a ‘high risk’ country. Anybody looking to enter Kuwait from one of the 32 countries will need to visit a non-banned country for 14 days prior to entering Kuwait.
