Cairo: Kuwait has confirmed 857 new cases of the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, an increase of 52 compared to the tally reported the day before, taking the country’s overall infections to 91,244.

Two more deaths from COVID-19 have been recorded, raising Kuwait’s fatality tally due to the disease to 548, Health Ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al Sanad said today.

There are 89 patients receiving intensive care treatment, Dr. Al Sanad added, according to the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA.

Kuwait’s total virus tests have reached 653,099 after 5,048 tests were done over the past 24 hours.

The Health Ministry said that 617 more patients have recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, bringing to 81,654 the overall number of recoveries from the ailment in Kuwait.
