Cairo: Kuwaiti authorities have allowed marriage registrars to conduct wedding sessions in houses again while complying with health precautions to curb the spread of the new coronavirus, Al Anba newspaper reported Tuesday.

The procedure was halted during a 20-day nationwide curfew that Kuwait started to enforce on May 10.

According to the precautions, maximum five persons are allowed at those sessions and must wear protective face masks and gloves, the paper added, citing sources at the Ministry of Justice.

The sources added that divorces are registered for those who have obtained final court rulings.

“As for those who seek divorce, they have first to go to the Family Consultancy Directorate which is not currently working,” the sources added.

The Ministry’s Legal Documentation Department also registers embracing Islam, inheritance papers and endowments based on beforehand appointments during the partial curfew now in force in Kuwait, according to the same sources.
